Park in the Duck Pond parking lot. Right there you can enjoy the Duck Pond but pay special attention to the group of trees to the north-west. This is a bird sanctuary and is spectacular in the late spring. The trees there can have probably a hundred egrets nesting at one time. Moving back toward the street, the trees around the Ranger Station are home to the Black Crowned Night Herons. The parking lot toward the bay is closed while the Killdeers nest. You can see the Night Herons come off the area to the south with nesting material in the spring so go across the street and follow the nice path. Turns fish off the water as it flows through the pipe under the bridge at the east end of the walk. Follow the shore counterclockwise back to the parking lot.
